Have you considered taking a vacation with a purpose?
Jody Kennedy International plans, manages, and coordinates several
mission projects each year. Services provided include
comprehensive volunteer training, travel insurance, travel arrangements,
meals and lodging, project planning, and project leadership. We are
scheduling volunteers for our 2007 and 2008 short-term, direct missions
projects. We can plan and lead your church group as a church team,
or we can put two or more church groups together to staff a missions
project. There are venues for adult volunteers, youth volunteers,
and families volunteering together. Review the schedule of upcoming
opportunities listed below. If you would like someone to contact
you for further information about any ministry, click

MINISTRY DESCRIPTIONS
(Scroll down for the project schedule.)
Evangelism through English-Practically Speaking
Conversational English
This is a cutting edge ministry using the fundamentals of friendship
evangelism. Join us in teaching conversational English, making friends,
and sharing Christ during several sessions of different students each
day. This course is taught on five different levels of speaking ability
from non-speakers through advanced level speakers. This year we will be
introducing our newly enhanced Practically Speaking curriculum that we
have developed exclusively for this ministry. This ministry is
recommended for Christian adults over 18 years old. No previous teaching
experience is necessary. Mandatory training is required to be part of
these events.
Evangelism through English-Practically Speaking
Business English
This is an innovative, distinctive ministry using
the fundamentals of friendship evangelism. While teaching business
concepts and values through our unique intensive business English course
we are able to make friends and share Christ. This course is taught to
intermediate and advanced university students and business
professionals. Curriculum developed exclusively for this ministry is
being introduced this year. This ministry is recommended for Christian
professionals who have had at least 10 years of business experience.
Mandatory training is required to be part of this ministry.
Nicaragua Children's Home Building Project
Currently 22 abandoned, abused, or orphaned
children share a home with a wonderful Christian family with four
children of their own. Our project includes renovations to the existing
structure and construction and equipping of a new 40-bed building as
well as ongoing financial support to help feed and clothe the children.
This ministry is recommended for adults and youth
who have an interest or experience in any area related to construction
including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, laying tile, etc.
Nicaragua Children’s Programs
There are opportunities to provide programs aimed
at children of all ages in the village of El Crucero and other areas in
Nicaragua. Programs may include VBS, Upward Soccer, puppet ministry,
music and skits, etc. This ministry is recommended for anyone who loves
children. Families are welcome to serve together in this ministry.
Prison Ministry
Collaborating with Champions for Life for a
Saturday or a weekend, go into the prison with experienced leaders and
evangelists to share love and the gospel with incarcerated men, women,
youth, and children. Jody Kennedy International can facilitate your
church’s participation in this vital ministry which is organized and
executed by Bill Glass Champions
for Life. This ministry is recommended for Christian men and women over
of the age of 18 years who have a desire to share the love of Jesus to
those without hope. Note that women are permitted only in certain
locations. Refer to the schedule for those locations. For complete
schedule information, go to the Bill Glass Champions for Life web site
at www.billglasscfl.org.
International Mission Board- Missionary
Support-Children’s Program
In support of our IMB missionaries on the field,
we provide care and teaching of their children while the adults attend a
conference for training, spiritual enrichment, and fellowship after long
separation from other Americans. This ministry is recommended for anyone
who loves children. Families are welcome to serve together in this
ministry.
International Missions Team Training
We will conduct team training events to prepare
all team members going on international ministries. Training will cover
teaching techniques, ministry preparation, cultural awareness, travel
health and safety, packing for a mission trip and spiritual readiness.
Training event locations and dates will be added as necessary. The fee
for training will be applied to the cost of the trip.
Gulf Coast Hurricane Relief
Families and churches along the Texas gulf coast are still suffering
from the effects of last year’s hurricanes. Samaritan’s Purse is asking
for more volunteers to lend a hand and share the gospel with those still
suffering. We need adults and students for a few days or a week of
outdoor work with great fellowship, hard work and spiritual growth,
ministering to those in need of help. Some of the work will be
physically demanding in unpleasant conditions. Work might include light
construction, clean-up and help to families and churches in the coastal
regions that are still hurting from last year’s hurricanes. Jody Kennedy
International will organize groups to spend a a few days or a week in
the continuing effort to restore lives and share the gospel of Christ
with others.
