WE
URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP
After
a successful Business English evangelism event in January at the campus
of the University Polytechnic of Nicaragua (UPOLI) in Managua, the door
was opened to future opportunities.
I
had received an invitation to bring a group back to UPOLI, but the
administration only recently gave me a date for this event. Before
I make a commitment to them, I need to have some volunteer teachers make
a commitment to the following dates.
Leave
the U.S. to Managua July 15
Teach
at UPOLI campus July
17-21
Return
to the
U.S.
July 22
Cost:
airfare + $420
Depending
on the airline, airfare from DFW starts at $860 as of today (6/15/06).
We
ask that volunteers have several years of some business or professional
experience. The curriculum is super easy to teach and very little
preparation is required. We provide the teaching materials and
will train you in how to facilitate the exercises. The students do

We're in
Managua
As we write
this update, we are in Managua preparing for work at the children's
home. Ben and Julie Agee (LOVEM CARE Ministries) will join us with
a team of 9 to work with the children in El Crucero through next week.
Doors Open in Bogotá,
Colombia
After we
finish in Managua on June 23, we will fly to Bogota for the two week
Practically Speaking English evangelism event. Although we will
work with a local Baptist church, we will be teaching on a university
campus so we will have lots of room for students.
Eastside
Baptist Church of Fort Smith, Arkansas is sending nine teachers.
Another is coming from Florida and two from the Fort Worth area.
The fourteen of us will host more than 600 students. The most
exciting thing about this event is that more than two-thirds of our
students will be public school and university teachers. We have a
wonderful opportunity to reach some very influential people with the
gospel of Christ. Pray for us during June 24 - July 8.
Children's
Home Project News
We have
received the engineering drawings for the children's home, so the next
step is to finalize our agreement with a local construction
"boss" and start digging. We should be laying the
foundation within a matter of weeks.
2006
Celebration Banquet Results
Our
first Celebration Banquet was a great success. Many attendees made
commitments to sponsoring children at the children's home and their
contributions are already having an impact on the kids. The result
is that fifteen of the thirty-nine children now have sponsors.
Thanks
to everyone who helped us with that event and thanks to all of you who
attended. We plan to have another banquet next year, so watch for
dates and details to come.

2006
Calendar Available
Our 2006 calendar is already filled with English language evangelism
events, Business English evangelism events, prison ministry and the
Children’s Home project. We
need lots of volunteers to fill all these projects with laborers.

with the 2006-2007 schedule. We are praying for volunteers and
finances to accomplish these vital projects.
